Phillip Rivers and Adrian Peterson are two names that could impact the NFL Draft. Two NFL veterans with uncertain futures. Rivers, the San Diego Chargers quarterback, is due for a contract extension. Peterson is an aging running back coming off legal issues which saw him spend the majority of last season on the “Commissioners Exempt List”. Peterson wants out of Minnesota but they want compensation. Rivers doesn’t want to move his family to Los Angeles as rumors swirl about the Chargers future home. While these two veteran names could secure a first round draft pick for their team in a potential trade I don’t expect either player to be moved. Quarterback is going to be the story of the night as Jamies Winston (Florida State) and Marcus Mariota (Oregon) should go number one and two overall to Tampa Bay and Tennessee respectively. The hype and hope of the NFL draft is fascinating as teams try to find their next franchise player. By this time next year we already could be talking about a draft bust at the top and a star from the mid-rounds that no one saw coming. The NFL Draft is an inexact science but one that football fans love.
