Mike is ABQ

Right now big things happening in our sports world, certainly no shortage of great things to talk about. The NBA playoffs, the NHL playoffs, and Major League Baseball has been underway for a couple of weeks, but the NFL has made its dominating presence felt in late April, and I gotta tell you they have my attention. As of 6pm MT, Tuesday April 21, 2015 the National Football League has released its 2015 schedule, getting everyone excited about the match ups that will take place in late summer, fall and early winter. This is significant as at one time it was Major League Baseball who dominated their off season with the hot stove league, a baseball-related term referring to the sport’s off-season. Now it would appear that the NFL is serving up its own version with what I’ll call the microwave ready league, with NFL news good or bad, never exiting the picture. Whether it’s about the draft which happens the final weekend of April, or speculation on where free agents may go, or even the possibility of teams moving from city to city, the NFL is solidifying its place in our psyche. Credit to them for having such an impact via some marketing genius’, again the Shield always has my attention, even if it is news of the return of Tim Tebow.
