It’s a fun time of year. Playoffs in the NBA and NHL, baseball stared, golf’s first major behind us and the Kentucky Derby a week away. I hope you are getting a piece of all of it, especially the hockey playoffs. I’ve told you for years how much I love hockey, especially in the post season. It’s a different animal, with an accelerated passion level. I got to experience it first-hand last week as I attended my first post-season NHL game in a lot of years. I was in Nashville last week for game one of the Predators series with the Chicago Blackhawks. Insane! It was a double-overtime thriller in front of a sold out crowd, all wearing their gold Predator shirts. The place was electric, loud and fun. The only thing it didn’t have was a home team victory. The entire city was buzzing. The arena in Nashville sits downtown with all the bars and attractions. By about 3:30 on game day afternoon, the whole area was buzzing with fans in Predators and Blackhawk sweaters, partying and filling the streets of Nashville. And this was just the first game of the first round. Do yourself a favor…try playoff hockey. If you don’t like it, you’ve lost a little bit of time. But I think you will really like it and understand why the hockey post season is unlike any other in sports.
