Wise Pies Arena.  Get used to it.

It was a big deal this week.  But let's be very clear; they did not change the name of the Pit.  They changed the name of University Arena.  It's like, if your name is "Franics" but you go by "Fran".  The only people who call you "Francis" are you mother, your wife and the judge.   It's the same thing with the Pit. Who called it "University Arena" anyway?  No one, is the answer.  The athletic department needed the money.  It's a model that is common all over the country.  I really believe that the uproar was because a lot of people don't know who/what Wise Pies is.  Relax.  And….applaud the guys who own Wise Pies.  These are local people who stepped up and filled a void that no one else was willing to do.  They supported Lobo athletics, and I think that's great.
