Put up your dukes city:
Though I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, I moved here to Albuquerque 3 months into my existence. I absolutely consider myself a native to the Duke city. The one concrete observation that I have made about my city is that we are likes to fight guy! Whether its severe road rage, stealing someone else's parking space, staring at someone’s girlfriend or someone staring at yours, mad dogging, or hitting someone wrong in a Slayer moshpit, we the city of Burque like to throw.
This fighting mentally is reflected even in our hometown sports. Consider we have one of the world’s most renowned MMA gyms in WinkleJohn/Jackson Gym. Arguably one of the city's greatest athletes Johnny Tapia (RIP) was a great fighter in and out of the ring. And in most recent weeks the Isotopes have been involved in brawls against opponents on the road and even with themselves, where one guy bit off the ear of another team mate! What does this all mean? Is there something in the water? Did the labs experiment with something in the air that made us so aggro? Does our green chili fuel our hot temper?
The answer may never be revealed. I am proud of my city and of my fellow Albuquerqueans, but likes to fight town needs to chill out!
Enjoy the rain, step away from the false machismo, find a nice gal or guy, and eat some mellow posole and some homemade tortillas. The last thing I want is clinched fists and black eyes, it takes too long to get a doctor's appointment in this town…Sheesh!
