Incident involving Miguel Olivo and Alex Guerrero
Greetings everyone!
I hope everyone has had an excellent week. I'm sure you've all noticed that Brandon has moved on from the Sports Bar to 770 KKOB. Someone will be paired with me permanently in the near future. Until then, you may hear a few different voices on the station with me in the afternoon.
I wanted to sound off for a moment on the incident involving Miguel Olivo and Alex Guerrero yesterday in Salt Lake as the Topes took on the Bees. Olivo apparently got into an argument with Guerrero on the field that spilled over to the dugout and ultimately led to Olivo biting off a portion of Guerrero's ear! From the world of bizzaro….this one is about as crazy as you can get! Crazier only that we've seen this before with Mike Tyson. Why is the ear a go-to move for some? I just don't get it! Having said that though, and in all seriousness, Olivo being held for depth on the roster at 36 years old and no other reason means that his future is bleak at best! Guerrero, however, having Scott Boras as his agent signed a $28 million dollar deal in the offseason. He's part of the Dodgers future. Olivo simply isn't. Look for Olivo to be flat out released shortly. When you're that old and you're a journeymen to begin with…you've gotta stay on the straight and narrow. Olivo took about as big a turn as you possibly could off of that path. Here's to hoping he's never seen in a big league uniform again because he doesn't deserve to wear it!
Have a great week!
