Buck Stops Here

Regular season story lines in sports not named the National Football League don’t really catch on with a lot of people. However the defending NBA champions are doing something very noteworthy. After a 131-123 win at Indiana the Golden State Warriors are 23-0. The 1972 Lakers won 33 in a row as they hold the top spot. With head coach Steve Kerr away from the team for medical reasons Luke Walton has steered the ship. There’s no hangover, questioning what motivation the Warriors have to keep the streak going, it’s simple, winning is what athletes are paid to do and what everyone wants to do. Stephen Curry is another great baller changing the game. His quick release, ridiculous handles and clutch buckets lead the highlights. But they function and play like a team full of dudes that grew up together. In the win over the Pacers Klay Thompson scored 29 points in the first half. Draymond Green flirts with triple-doubles and the vets on the bench roll with their roles. This team is a whole lot of fun to watch. Legends are made with titles. This group has one title to their name so enjoying this moment is easier. Heavy legs, an off night shooting, things that seem impossible right now will happen. So they may not go 82-0. If they go 24-0 or lose Friday night in Boston, hats off to you Golden State because I can’t get enough of your bucket making ways.
