NFL Week 3, Surprises and Shockers?

Week three of the National Football League begins Thursday, when the Washington Redskins take on the NY Giants, in what appeared at first to be a lame divisional matchup between two teams who have done nothing in years, but suddenly it is now intriguing for several reasons. The first and most important reason is supremacy of a very weird topsy turvy division the NFC East. What was to be a division dominated by the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles, has taken quite the turn, Dallas dealing with injuries to their top two stars Tony Romo and Dez Bryant, Philadelphia not quite getting it together offensively, NY giving games away in the final minutes of games having severe brain lapses, and a Washington team who despite some off season dysfunction is somehow playing better than most thought. Now granted still lots of football left to be played, and so much could change and all the preseason expectations could be met, or could they? Is this to be the norm, where week to week parity of the league has hit fever pitch. Where the Raiders can look horrible one week than play huge against a Baltimore Ravens team who made the playoffs the last few years, or the Jacksonville Jaguars league bottom feeders can suddenly beat a Dolphins team who paid $96 million dollars for an unproven quarterback. These are just some of the examples, there are still many, such as the 2-0 Jets, etc., crazy weeks of unpredictability, teams we thought were not competitive suddenly factor in. Is this what the league likes, is this what fans like? You decide, for me its fun, it might drive me crazy on my weekly picks, but again let’s pump the breaks it’s only week three, reality I believe will set in, and the world will be normal again for pro football, I think….
