An e-mailer got me thinking today. What is the right schedule composition to get fans out for Lobo football? The email said he’s not excited about Mississippi Valley State or Tulsa, and doesn’t care for the league games the team plays at home. The only game he is interested in is the New Mexico State game. OK. I’m not going to tell you what to like, but I will ask you what you will like. Utah State will be in this year. They have won 10 games last year including a bowl win. Colorado State is coming….they won 10 games last year and went to a bowl game. Air Force will be here too. They won a bowl game and 10 games last year. All of those are good teams and seem like they would be a good draw. So, do you like the schedule? Realize who you are and of what league you are a member. I’m OK with people who say, “I just don’t like Lobo football and I’m not going.” Nothing you can do about that. The schedule excuse this year is a bit puzzling to me though. An opener that should make you feel good. The next game is a decent test, followed by your rival and four good league matchups. Is it wrong that I’m a bit intrigued about what this football season will bring?
