Whoa Shark Attack!
I love it when an athlete puts it all out there, the wide receiver who takes the hard hit up the middle of the field, the baseball player that steals second with wreck-less abandonment, the Nascar driver that flips his car four times and comes out without a scratch, the surfer who defies the jaws of death? Yes if you haven’t seen this, check out this video (link down below) of surfer Mick Fanning at the J-Bay Open narrowly escape injury, hell death, by a shark attack on July 19 during at a competition in Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. Look I’m a land lover raised here in the southwest, and as a kid the first movie I ever saw at a drive-in was Jaws, kids a drive-in is, well never mind… but I still remained traumatized by what that shark did from the Peter Benchley novel, and the Steven Speilberg movie of that time, that I will never get farther than 5 feet in the ocean or even in fresh water for the same reason. Animals by Mother Nature’s doing have it all over my out of shape bad swimming slow ass! So when I see that this guy had no problem getting into waters he knows may be infested by such creatures, and somehow escapes without even a drop of blood from his body, I will give the biggest cojones award clearly to Mick Fanning and all the surfers in the world. Look maybe surfing is to become the new Nascar in which people say they watch only because of the shark attacks, instead of the wrecks, if that is the case count me in…because channel surfing is the only surfing you’ll be seeing out of this sports fan.
