Jeff’s Journal

What a great week this is! College basketball’s national championship game and baseball’s opening day on Monday. The Isotopes’ opener on Thursday. And…the Masters, one of my favorite events of the year. The Masters, to many, marks the start of the golf season; when they dust off their clubs and hack it around for the first time. It marks “must-see viewing” for me. And now, with Tiger Woods saying he is going to be a part of the week, it is even that more intriguing. I don’t think Tiger will win; I like Dustin Johnson, Jordan Speith, Bubba Watson and Jason Day, along with the world’s number one golfer Rory McElroy. But I do want to see how Tiger does. He will participate in the Wednesday par-3 competition for the first time this year. His two children will be out there with him as his caddies.
His friend and Albuquerque Native Notah Begay was on our show Wednesday morning talking about the human side of Tiger. How his kids have brought a sense of calm to Tiger and I am interested to see how that all plays out. My child has brought a whole new perspective to my life and in turn, helped me professionally. I’m interested to see how it will change Tiger, if at all. And I must say, I’m rooting for Tiger. And I’m rooting for another great weekend at Augusta.
