New England Patriots
So, the New England Patriots are under the microscope again. Accused of intentionally deflating footballs, allegedly for their advantage; the theory is, that balls with less pressure in them are easier to grip, especially when it is cold and wet like it was last week in Massachusetts. This, of course, isn't the first time this franchise has been accused of "bending the rules" to their advantage. You go ahead and decide what penalty should be imposed if they are found to have cheated intentionally. I ask you this question though. Would you rather your team push the envelope and try to find advantages that gets them to six Super Bowls in 20 years, or would you rather be a pedestrian 8-8 team that does very little annually in the post season? I don't want to minimize the allegations; if guilty, it is cheating. I just think most fans don't mind bending the rules a bit if it means winning.
