My Man, Manziel

Tuesday the Cleveland Browns announced Johnny Manziel will be the starting quarterback for Week 15's game against the Bengals. It’s about time! Often times on the Sports Bar I am called nuts for saying I believe Manziel will be one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time. I still believe this to be so. Time will ultimately prove that this former Heisman Award winning, controversial, sometimes strange acting young man will grow into his nose and into form. He will take his craft and talent seriously and will lead the Browns, or another team if let go, to multiple Super Bowls. I know, I know… I don't have a crystal ball. He's only a rookie, but in my estimation he has the IT! The IT that made Joe Namath a legend; you know, the fur coat sporting, pantyhose wearing, woman-chasing stud on the sidelines that guaranteed a Super Bowl victory with the NY Jets. Some would say that is sacrilege to compare the two, but it really is not that much of a reach. Johnny Football is clearly the type of quarterback the NFL needs going forward.  A guy who has mad skills, while brash and flamboyant. The game as it stands only has only a handful of QB's who are a given to win. Guys who are aging (Brady), guys who are classy (Rodgers) or supreme talent but boring off the field (Manning). It’s time for the new era to come in. Move over little dog Hoyer, let the big bad dog Manziel off the leash. The Browns’ chances of making the playoffs are slim this year (and I'm fine with that); just let them start winning now through end the season. Let it go and be good Johnny!
