Hoops are upon us.

New Mexico men's and women's basketball teams begin their regular season on Friday. The Lady Lobos are not taking it slowly with a non-conference schedule that features Texas and Stanford, national powers. For the men it is going to be a new era. With two players in the NBA (Alex Kirk, Cameron Bairstow) and one playing professionally overseas (Kendall Williams) gone from last season's team, Craig Neal has his work cut out for him. Seniors Hugh Greenwood and Deshawn Delaney along with sophomore Cullen Neal will lead the way for a team that will be backcourt dominated early on. The Pit will be rocking all season long and you can listen to the Lady Lobos also on 610 The Sports Animal. Time to get buckets.
