Dude, where's the defense?
Bob Davie said on Monday he needs some dudes to step up on defense. New Mexico has given up 518.3 yards per game and that's just the way it's going to be. But Friday night against Fresno State, one defensive stop or a turnover could change the outcome of the game. Fresno State rolled UNM last year 69-28 in Fresno but their three best offensive players from that game (Derek Carr-OAK, Davante Adams-GB, Isaiah Burse-DEN) are now playing in the NFL. If the Lobos execute their offense (437.7 yards per-game), points will be scored and they will have a chance. Sophomore linebacker, Dakota Cox, is a dude. He was named Mountain West Defensive Player of the Week after a first quarter interception and being all over the field during the Lobos win at New Mexico State. Who will rise with Dakota? Just one or two plays is all it takes. Friday night, prime time, Lobos verses Bulldogs, here we go. Where dem dudes at?
