Our rivalry
Pardon me, but I'm going to take a break from Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson and the NFL for a moment and look forward to the renewal of the Rivalry of Enchantment this weekend in Las Cruces. The Lobos and Aggies get together for what can be a pretty entertaining football game Saturday night. And this is “our rivalry”. I'm well aware where this ranks on the national scale. It doesn't resonate like Auburn/Alabama, USC/UCLA, Michigan/Ohio St, Texas/Oklahoma and the rest of them. I get that. But this is ours and it is as big as we make it. Two teams who are trying to make something special happen for their programs and their fan bases. The Aggies, off to a 2-1 start really feel a win this weekend can launch them to a potential bowl bid, their first bowl since the 1960 Sun Bowl. The Lobos feel the same way… That they can turn a disappointing start into a magical run with what remains on the schedule. AND, it's football! And judging by the rest of the country, football is really fun. No matter what shade of red you prefer, crimson or cherry, enjoy this game and this rivalry. It's ours…make it great.
