Greetings everyone,
Tony Stewart situation
I hope everyone has had an excellent week! I've had an excellent week though I must say that I'm fairly bothered by a lot of different aspects of what has happened with this Tony Stewart situation. The most tragic part of this, of course, is a young man in Kevin Ward Jr. losing his life for no good reason. But this event has also brought to the forefront once again how quick we are as a public to jump on the wagon that is the court of public opinion. Whatever way the wind is blowing it seems, we're all ready and willing to hop on the train and ride on the rails no matter how many facts come our way that says we're headed the wrong direction. This was evident this week when talking heads, who happen to have law degrees, jump on the sets of Fox Sports and ESPN and proclaim that Tony Stewart basically committed pre-meditated murder in cold blood on the track last Saturday. They would later backtrack, but it was amazing and equally disturbing someone speak with such conviction on a subject that they were simply speculating on, at best. Are they wrong? I think so, but I can't prove that… Any more than they can prove that Tony Stewart saw Kevin Ward Jr. as some sort of target to aim for on the track! So before you succumb to the popular thought of the masses, take a second to think about how those sharing their often misguided opinions got to their conclusion so incredibly quickly while being so far removed from a situation personally.
Take care and have a great week!!!!
