Greetings everyone!

I hope everyone has had an excellent week! It seems as though everyday now in sports, controversial stories and polarizing topics dominate the headlines. I suppose it's more what we're interested in than what is happening necessarily, but it's still interesting that for the second week in a row I pen a letter regarding an issue involving a topic like that. Stephen A. Smith of ESPN once again spoke out of turn this past week when talking about "provocation" being an important ingredient in the Ray Rice domestic violence situation. While I applaud Smith's willingness to put his opinion out there, what I don't appreciate is when he says later on that it simply wasn't his opinion, rather he misspoke. Does anyone believe that Smith really didn't have those thoughts come to mind for any reason other than because he believes them? I sure don't! While media personalities should certainly have to deal with consequences, they shouldn't have to retract their belief. Thus is the world of keeping your job though….something that I guess we can all relate to!

In other news, don't forget that 610's 20th Birthday Bash is coming up next Friday August 8th at the County Line BBQ The party starts at 3pm and we will certainly have a few big names from the MMA and boxing world, Dontrell Moore will be along as well as others to be announced in the coming week. It's going to be a great time with a lot of great stuff to be had by YOU! Get out there!!!

Have a great week!!
