Dan Snyder
Switch bodies with Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder and think to yourself "What would I do?" This morning The United States Patent and Trademark Office has canceled six federal trademark registrations for the name of the Washington Redskins, ruling that the name is “disparaging to Native Americans” and thus cannot be trademarked under federal law that prohibits the protection of offensive or disparaging language. If you are Snyder upon hearing this news, do you remain steadfast and true to your word that you won't change the name, do what many consider to believe is a tradition, an endearing nickname, an honor to Native Americans or to stop being so politically correct…Or do you the alternative and change it for those who see the nickname as racist, hurtful and obsolete? While we don't yet know the ramifications of this ruling yet, just ask yourself for a moment…What would I do?
In other news that poses again the question of rights and wrongs, yesterday was the 20th Anniversary of the Bronco chase of OJ Simpson, I sit and think a lot about that fateful day for Orenthal and try to look back at what I was doing, then I have to ask the question, is this as important a question as where were you for 9/11, or JFKs assassination?… or is it just bad taste to make a horrible situation linger and laugh at it…hummm food for thought mobsters….
