Every time I think I've seen it all, I realize I haven't seen anything.
Oh, sure…I've seen teammates scuffle before. I've seen guys on the same team push, shove, and even fight. But I have to admit, I've never seen one teammate bite off part of another teammate's ear…during the game….in the dugout! I've been trying to figure out a scenario where this all makes sense. The only thing I can come up with is, if you're in a fight, in a helpless situation where you fear the worst, maybe that is your only recourse. Maybe! That wasn't the case here. The Isotope's Miguel Olivo got into an altercation with Isotopes star, and one of the Dodgers' top prospects, Alex Guerrrero in Salt Lake City on Tuesday. Reports tell us that teammates separated the two and while Guerrero was being held back by other teammates, Olivo chomped off part of Guerrero's ear (I don't know which part). Unacceptable in any context. Salt Lake City police are investigating. They should. Biting off someone's ear is criminal anywhere else in life and it should be investigated, and if warranted, prosecuted. I also believe, and granted I don't know all the facts, the Dodgers need to release Miguel Olivo. This is unacceptable and the Dodgers should not tolerate it.
